The Rich Bollam ’66 RAA Endowment Fund was established through an agreement between the RAA and RPI in 2012. The creation of this endowed fund ensures a consistent stream of funding that provides a basis for the association’s operating resources in perpetuity. Funds from this endowment are restricted to the purposes, programs, and priorities of the Rensselaer Alumni Association.

In 2022, after hearing of the passing of Rich Bollam ’66, the RAA Board unanimously voted to rename the RAA Endowment Fund in honor of Rich. Rich devoted countless hours reaching out to other alumni to build onto this endowment. We continue to work on Rich’s vision for growing this fund to increase the RAA’s ability to fund more programs that benefit RPI, our students, and our alumni community.

The following are examples of programs supported by this endowment fund:

  • Cash awards for outstanding students who have shown leadership in building a sense of community among our students and alumni
  • Faculty who have demonstrated their excellence in teaching our students and seed money to support their projects that enhance the experience our students have in the classroom
  • Annual awards recognizing our sports team of the year
  • Recognizing an RAA Chapter of the Year that has stood out from all others with outstanding programming and support of RPI

The RAA can only expand its impact with the growth of this fund and additional resources.

Rich devoted countless hours reaching out to other alumni to build onto this endowment. We continue to work on Rich’s vision for growing this fund to increase the RAA’s ability to fund more programs that benefit RPI, our students, and our alumni community.”
