At Rensselaer, our students are the future leaders who will leave their mark on the world. Rensselaer students share a legacy of academic achievement, discovery and innovation, entrepreneurship, creative expression, and global leadership.
Support Rensselaer Students
Rensselaer proudly prepares students to make a difference in the world and to make a good living while doing so, and financial support for all students is critical. Financial support allows us to attract the most talented students to Rensselaer, regardless of socioeconomic background.
In order to continue to attract and enroll the brightest students to Rensselaer, we must provide them with financial aid packages that are comparative with competing universities.
At Rensselaer, tuition covers just 75 percent of the cost of educating our students. Gifts to support scholarships and fellowships help us close the gap between what families pay and the cost of the Rensselaer experience, and allow our students to graduate with less debt.
Rensselaer Annual Fund
When you support a Rensselaer student through the Annual Fund, you are making a gift from one generation to the next. Gifts to the Annual Fund, at any level, support many aspects that directly impact Rensselaer students, from award-winning student programming, undergraduate research, study abroad, opportunities for collaboration with our talented and dedicated faculty, and so much more.
Rensselaer Annual Fund Scholarship Programs
One of the most personal and lasting ways to make a difference in the lives of Rensselaer students is with a gift of scholarship support. There are a variety of ways in which you can support students at Rensselaer, including Rensselaer Annual Fund Scholars, the Rensselaer Annual Fund Assistance Grant, and the Patroon Scholars Program of the Rensselaer Annual Fund. Whether you choose to make your gift in support of multiple students, or create the type of relationship between the sponsor and student that lasts a lifetime, you can truly impact the lives of our students in so many ways.
Endowment: Scholarships and Fellowships
Building scholarship support within our endowment helps attract the very best students and ensures that they are able to attend, regardless of their ability to pay full tuition.
More than 90 percent of our students receive some sort of financial aid. Yet our endowed scholarship resources leave us well behind competing institutions.
Financial support for graduate students is equally critical to the success of the entire academic enterprise. Two-thirds of our graduate students receive financial support from fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships. To build our graduate programs in both size and quality will require greatly increased resources in financial aid for graduate students.
An endowed scholarship (unrestricted) may be established for a minimum gift of $200,000, and a restricted scholarship fund may be established for $250,000, to ensure a student's future promise.
Your support of a student is truly appreciated and you are afforded opportunities to interact with your student throughout the year, particularly at the annual Celebration of Support.
