On Thursday, April 12, 2018, Rensselaer Trustee and Senior Vice President for Cognitive Solutions and Research at IBM Corporation, John E. Kelly III ’78G, ’80 Ph.D., D.H.L. (Hon.) hosted a Fireside Chat at the IBM Watson Experience Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
With support from the Warren Alpert Foundation, researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have launched a search for drug candidates to block a biological process associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

On March 2, 2019, more than 150 alumni, alumnae, parents, corporate partners, and friends of the Institute gathered for the opportunity to network and meet with Institute leadership, renowned faculty, and talented students.
On March 21, 2019, more than 60 alumni, alumnae, and parents of Rensselaer students attended a Presidential State of the Institute featuring CLASS Alive! at the historic Union League of Philadelphia.

At a ceremony held on Thursday, May 14, 2019, one of Rensselaer’s most distinguished alumnae — Dr. Nancy Deloye Fitzroy ’49 — was honored as the Admissions Building was officially designated as the Nancy Deloye Fitzroy ’49 and Roland V. Fitzroy Jr. Admissions Building.
